Cyber Security and Information Assurance Training
Amethyst Risk Management is a leading provider of Cyber Security and Information Assurance (IA) training in the UK. Our training provides a comprehensive framework of courses that meets the mandatory HMG IA training requirement for its people; the skills and language needed by public sector suppliers and other IA professionals to understand and comply with public sector IA requirements. A description of our training courses and schedule is available here.
Many of the courses replace those previously delivered by the National School of Government and continue to be delivered by Harvey Mattinson, Peter Fischer and other experienced Amethyst Consultants. Our trainers are leading technical specialists in their field, with many years of practical experience within both Central and Local Government, the Police, and a wide range of Commercial sectors.
IISP & CESG Certified IA Professional Certification
Amethyst is working closely with the Institute of Information Security Professionals (IISP) to align the training courses with their Security Skills Framework and achieve IISP certification.
The training courses aim to provide knowledge and understanding at IISP Level 1 (Awareness) as defined in the IISP Framework
(Note this link to content from the IISP website opens in new window).
Level 1 - Awareness: Understands the skill and its application. Has acquired and can demonstrate basic knowledge associated with the skill. Understands how the skill should be applied but may have no practical experience of its application.
Candidates seeking to achieve CESG Certification for IA Specialists through the CESG Certified Professional Scheme (CCP) should note that both IISP and other Certification Bodies for the Scheme will require evidence that the information and knowledge presented on these courses has been assimilated. Moreover, evidence of practical implementation of some of the knowledge gained in some of the Skill Groups will be required for both IISP membership and certification for selected roles under the CCP Scheme; for the CCP Scheme the Skill Groups requiring practical experience will be determined by the CCP Role(s) selected.
A mapping of our training courses to the IISP Security Skills Framework Version 6.1 (July 2010) is provided here.
A mapping of our training courses to the CCP IA roles to is provided here.
